Conference Location and How to get there

The Haus der Universität (HdU) is located in the very centre of Düsseldorf close to the Königsallee. ATTENTION: The HdU IS NOT close to the campus of the Heinrich-Heine-Universität!

Travel by public transport
There are numerous stations within 3 minutes walking distance from the Haus der Universität:

• Underground (U-Bahn): „Heinrich-Heine-Allee“ and „Schadowstraße“
• Tramway (Straßenbahn): „Schadowstraße“
• Bus: „Heinrich-Heine-Allee“

Arriving by plane
The Düsseldorf airport is one of the biggest in Europe. There is a train terminal within the airport which enables a direct connection to the main station (“HBF”) via the “S-Bahn S11” (approx. 12 minutes). Please use this train and not the SkyTrain to travel to the city center (a connection to the city from the Sky Train’s destination “Flughafen Bahnhof” is also possible, but cumbersome).

From the main train station, use the underground to get to the Haus der Universität (see below).

 

Arriving by train
The Düsseldorf main station (“HBF”) is connected to all international long-distance train routes.

The underground station is located in the basement floor. All lines are connected to the station “Heinrich-Heine-Allee” close to the Haus der Universität (3rd stop, around 3 minutes travel time).

Directions of various underground transport: U70: Krefeld, U74: Meerbusch, U75: Neuss, U76: Krefeld, U77: Am Seestern, U78: Arena/Messe Nord, U79: Duisburg.

 

Arriving by car
The Haus der Universität is located in a pedestrian zone and cannot be reached by car directly, although access for taxis is permitted.

If you arrive by your own car, follow the signs for the centre (Zentrum) from all directions. The Haus der Universität is located in the city centre close to the northern end of the Königsallee.

Car parks in the area are rare and charged during the day. It is advisable to use a multi-storey car park.
